Orientation

Welcome to my blog for the Journey of Hope 2009! I will be posting pictures and stories of my cross-country cycling trip this summer on a weekly basis. Sign up as a follower and you'll get a notice when I post something new. Please forgive spelling and grammar mistakes, I am usually on the go when I update this!

I arrived in San Francisco one week ago and spent some time with my Cornell brothers Ethan Cohen and Kevin Chung. Both natives of the region, they showed me around town and took me to have my first in-n-out burger. It's my first time on the west coast so I had a lot to see!

On Wednesday, I moved to the University of San Francisco for orientation, where I meet all of the Pi Kapps I would be doing the trip with. We quickly bonded and are all very excited (and nervous!) to get started. Right now, I am sitting in a dorm room at USF. We've been training and going over policy and procedures for these first four days. Yesterday, we have had our first friendship visit at the Janet Pomeroy Center where we were demolished at basketball (126 to 36) by the Wildcats. Today, we went on our first practice ride around the San Francisco bay where I was the sweep (last rider) for the team with Mike Algozine. Tomorrow, we depart on the first leg of our journey for Napa Valley. I can't wait!
